As the temperatures begin to rise and spring/summer 2023 is almost upon us, it’s time to start thinking about what fabric trends are in this season. From soft neutrals in natural fibre fabrics, bright colours in textured airflow fabrics to bold prints, there are plenty of ways you can incorporate our fabric range into your wardrobe. Whether you’re looking to create a stunning showstopper or a classic basic garment; we’ll be looking at some of the up-trending fabrics for spring/summer 2023, as well as how you can use them.

Sustainability remains a big message for this season and our certified Eco-friendly range offers many items. Keep it natural with our Linen Rayon blend and 100% Linen wovens in white, soft neutrals and a tonal or natural stripe. Tones of Fatigue, Coral and a splash of Hot pink and Chartreuse colours are also in the mix. These fabrics are perfect for relaxed ladies, kids and menwear styling. Another tactile sensation of natural origins in earthy shades are introduced with our soft and beautiful luxurious Bamboo / lycra knit as well as our famous Viscose/Lycra in all the colours of the rainbow. Both fabrics have a Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification confirming the raw materials for our bamboo and viscose items were sustainable sourced.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) unite citizens, businesses, governments, and NGOs under a common goal: protecting healthy, resilient forests for all, forever. This season the trend for rayon wovens is blended with a little nylon. Look out for our Nina, in both classic and fashion colours with a beautiful drape and subtle shine! The blend offers the best of both worlds, the comfort of rayon with an understated sheen.

Denim on Denim, produced from natural fibre cotton, is an edgy new look and our 100% cotton Chambray and light weight Denim is all you need to achieve the look! These are available in classic indigo, sky blue and airforce blue shades. Cotton poplin, voiles and crinkle cotton, also produced from natural fibre cotton, are big players to create crisp white oversized shirts, styled with maxi denim skirts and clogs. Update your oversized shirt the next day with our Laura Pinstripe shirting perfect for both ladies and menwear styling.

Chloe knit and Avah airflow adds mega texture and is easy to care for with a simple wash and wear, in fact perfect for those loadshedding days. Our wide colour range include soft neutrals to fashion brights. All relevant for this summer season. Chloe textured knit is perfect for body skimming dresses and halter necks while Avah airflow is perfect for feminine skirts, tops and dresses. Fancy sheers bring drama to the party! Our black sheer Mesh, range of tulle and Sequin Mesh items add to the transparent semi-sheer theme this season with a dazzle of bling. Black Lace shirts and Lacy details with visible bra straps and underwear adds to the drama … adjust your heals and wear from dawn till dusk!

SK’s seashell Crochet offers an update for the Boho chic look which is perfect for casual beach or pool parties during the warm summer holidays. Hemlines are adorned with tassels and fringing for updated summer styling. As crochet becomes even more popular, there’s no doubt we will be seeing plenty more of these patterned crochet looks to complete our wardrobes. Bold print themes for the season are inspired by nature’s tropical forests and multicolour or tonal florals.

Our beautiful Clifton Bloom and Tropical Abyss are tropical inspired prints on natural fibre bases perfect for summer dresses. Tonal floral prints include Crystal floral and Marina print on modern viscose/nylon blends with a subtle texture slub and our classic black and white Sketchbook floral on a soft rayon woven base. Stripes are timeless and stylish; they add something subtle yet chic to your summer wardrobe.
